The MOVE.

Yep, it's happening.

We are moving to Sierra Vista, AZ!

We are pretty excited, although it seems that we don't have much support in our decision.

SO....... I wanted to give a little run-down of our thought process for this move!

Reasons To MOVE:

1. Landon has a pretty good job with a lot of potential in Sierra Vista, drilling wells for Matt Tanner.
2. Landon has a pretty good chance of getting onto a Fire Department in Sierra Vista, and is already well into the process of applying, interviewing, etc.
3. Nursing School- No waiting list, I'm planning on starting August 2014.
4. Land, land, land. There is beautiful land with a lot of potential around Sierra Vista. (Anyone who knows us knows that we never planned on staying in the city! So, why would we ground ourselves here if the city life is not our dream?)

Reasons to STAY:

1. We love living close to our families. There are lots of cousins, and we want that for our kids.
2... Uhm......... I can't think of anything else right now, but that's the big one.

It is so hard to move away from a place that you know and love. BUT, the only thing that I feel like we are leaving behind is our family. (Which is a big deal, but we have to be secure in jobs, etc also.) We have a lot of potential and a lot of room to grow, and I think that taking the risk in moving is going to allow us both to improve ourselves and become who we want to be, and to fulfill our dreams. If not just that, it will give us a start to the next big chapter of our lives.

So there ya go.

Happy 90th Birthday, Grandma McWhorter

My Great Grandma McWhorter is an amazing lady. What a perfect example of a mother and wife. She is so righteous and I can feel the spirit around her constantly.

She is Paisley's Great Great Grandmother. (WOW! 5 Generations!)

We are lucky to have her as an example in our lives and to be a part of her posterity.

Happy Birthday, Grandma. :)

Happy 3 Years To Us!

Landon and I celebrated our 3rd anniversary yesterday! Hurrah, we made it this far!

BOY, have we grown since the day we were married.

I have never stopped loving Landon, even though there have been several times that I did not "like" him. ;) (And vice versa for sure!)

What is happening on our 3rd Anniversary?

Landon is living in Sierra Vista, drilling wells and trying to get onto a Fire Department (He graduated from the MCC Fire Academy last May).

I just finished my CNA training and passed my State Boards and start my last prerequisites for the Nursing Program on July 1st! (The plan is to start the Nursing Program August of 2014)

Paisley and I plan on moving to Sierra Vista the 1st weekend of August.

Paisley turns 2 in just 5 weeks.

Now, Look at this cute girl!

Aspen Grove 2013

Vacation, vacation. We anticipated and planned this one for about a year, and I still can't believe that it is over!

We had a blast.

My 5 favorite things about Aspen Grove?

1. They play with your kids all day. Paisley had a blast! I never had to worry about her, and this gave me time to do whatever I wanted. (Coolest thing ever..now THAT is a vacation!)

2. Family Time. I got to know all of Landon's immediate and extended family on a more personal level. I loved getting to know each and every person that I spent time with! I am glad to have gotten close to them :)

3. Fun things to do all day long, every day! Landon and I custom made some cool leather belts, Landon made a pen, and I took a little pottery class. (Which was harder than I had imagined, considering my lopsided bowl.) We did their ropes course 3 times, which was probably my favorite thing all week long, and we each separately competed in several of their sports events.

4. Food. Ok, the food wasn't all 5-star quality but the fact that I didn't even have to think about making meals pretty much made it 5-star. All I had to do was show up where the food was and eat. However, I am still recovering from how unhealthily I ate for an entire week. The first day I came home, I didn't eat anything because the feeling of an empty stomach actually made me happy and like I wasn't quite as fat as I felt after eating like a pig for a week. (Seriously, huge heavy meals and dessert after lunch AND dinner?! Ugh.)

5. Hiking. Ok, so there was supposed to be a group hiking Mt. Timpanogas but most everyone bailed. So, it was me, and Landon's parents. We only planned on reaching Emerald Lake because it got pretty snowy near the top, but after crossing like 12 huge patches of snow (2 which had waterfalls running under them-sketchy) and getting about 1/4 mile from Emerald Lake, we had to make the decision to turn back because it got too risky with the snow. It was still a beautiful hike- there were at least 10 different waterfalls on the way up and the landscape was absolutely gorgeous. Next time, I hope I get the chance to reach the top of Mt. Timpanogas.

This trip/family reunion was also the first time that all of the Threet "sisters" (Erica, Emily, Alison, Carly, Bethany, Lauren, me and my MIL) sang together. We sang "One Life To Live" and did a pretty good job I guess, based on what the other Aspen Grove Campers and family said. We got lots of compliments and it was so much fun having that experience with all of my fmaily-in-law. Landon's Grandma Davis came up to me and said "..You fit perfectly in this family!" which really meant a lot.

It was a blast. It was fun for everyone. What a perfect family vacation, and a perfect place to have a family reunion.
